Cultural Assimilation is Bad

Image
Assimilation is the act of chanhging aspect's of one's identity, including cultural identity, to fit social standards. This is due to the fact that people feel that their are things in thier culture that they don't want others to know. This is something that I don't like tp see since, if thats your culture then you should show it. hough if it truly feels right to you then of course you can hde it. Thoguh students do cultural assimilation in many ways. Students would do tis by stop wearing thier traditional clothes in thier culture. Another waywould be by them compleley changing the way they eat food. Up to the point they would stop speaking thier native language that they learned. This is a very sad thing to see since many cultures are being hid away ue to this. Even at times cultures have been wiped away because of this. Students shouldn't give up their cultural identity when in a new environment. This is because students should have the freedom to share their cul...

A Debate on the Best Wolf Girl

My first time looking at the story "St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves" it looked like a story I wouldn't read. Though I might not have want to read it I was told to do so anyway. When I first read the story it started off with some narration from the main character saying how her and her sister were sent to this train like home. I soon saw that the story is going by sections, or in the story they say "stages". These section correlate with the actual stages in turning a wolf girl human in the story. I have never read something that had that type of organization, which I thought was nice to see. Then when I got to read about the narrators perspective and her sisters feelings, I begun to enjoy the story. The characters show good character development through each stage especially the narrator. Though, my favorite character is the complete opposite in the story. The characters name is Mirabella. She seems to not change from how she is and isn't foll...

Local Eats

You Must Eat at These Places  Growing up in Richmond Hill Queens my parents took me to eat at Tom's Pizza. Tom's Pizza is probably my earliest memory of eating pizza. This would be the only place I would ever eat or get pizza from. I was fine with that since the pizza was delicious. All those well known pizza places like Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns don't come close to Tom's Pizza. You could just get a regular slice and it would be like a luxury to eat. I also enjoyed their French fries and Chicken, so if you want to try that then go for it. Great pizza place would recommend to anyone who so happens to be looking a pizza place. I also want to mention this Peruvian Restaurant that I loved eating at. The restaurant is called Pollo Rico. I  would always walk from Church with my family and stop by to eat some amazing chicken. The chicken is so well done I thought it was so perfect. The fries that would come along with the chicken were just the best. That dish was amaz...
